The thing I like least about World Cup soccer is all the flopping about they do. Seeing these people fall so easily explains why international basketball players who play in the NBA are notorious for flopping. They learned it from their countrymen on the soccer field.

What I like about the World Cup, besides the excitement of rooting for your team and winning, is the sportsmanship. Sure the flopping is unsportsmanlike, but when someone legitimately falls down, you’ll see teams helping other teams to their feet. You rarely see it American football and basketball.
Another form of good sportsmanship is the tradition of swapping jerseys after match. It dates back to a 1931 match between France and England.
So they swap jerseys in the World Cup. But what about Women’s World Cup? I will let you know on June 26, 2011: FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011. It will be on my DVR.
Or you can catch it on E!SPN.

What does ESPN stand for? I’ve been trying to figure it out, but none of my guesses made sense so far. ESportes Para Network? That’s Spanish. I don’t even know if that’s correct Spanish.
Extreme Sports Plays Network? I get the S and I get the N, but what on Earth does the E and P stand for?
I mean, CNN is pretty obvious. Cable News Network. AMC, American Movie Classics. NBC, CBS, ABC, they’re all pretty easy to figure out. But ESPN. WTF does that stand for?
UPDATE: Just checked Wikipedia. It’s Entertainment Sports Programming Network. Which makes the E!SPN not so far-fetched anymore.

I like to watch ESPN. Most men do. Most women don’t. Conversely, women like to watch E!. Most men don’t.
So to better bridge this gap, I think ESPN should have a channel dedicated for women and women sports. It doesn’t have to be The Ocho, it can be E!SPN, or something. The channel would have WNBA games, NCAA softball games, Ladies’ Billiards, etc.
But also on top of that, it would have reality shows full of the kind of drama that women like so much. It’d be something like Keeping Up With The Kardashians except it’s the Williams sisters or something.

Think about it. I think you’ll like it no matter your gender.
